I’ve always felt a quiet awe in the face of the unknown, and a curious pull toward the mysteries that live beneath the surface. This combination of fascination and reverence, as well as my personal experiences of loss, led me to death and mortality studies in 2020.

In 2023, I completed my death doula training with Going with Grace and began volunteering with multiple hospice organizations, offering compassionate presence to folks nearing or at the end of life. In 2024, I completed a Living Funeral Ceremony Practitioner Training with Emily Cross (of Steady Waves Center) to be able to guide others through an in-depth mortality contemplation and death meditation. Living with an awareness of mortality has deepened the way I move through my own life and has become a compass for how I show up in the everyday.

I have also completed Amy Wright Glenn’s training in Holding Space for Abortion, which affirmed and expanded my commitment to supporting grief that often goes unseen. I offer compassionate, nonjudgmental space for people processing abortion, whether the experience was recent or long ago, chosen or not. I believe this form of grief also deserves ritual, care, and witness, and I bring my full presence to the emotional complexity it can hold.

I work in the Activities Department of a Skilled Nursing Facility, where I’ve gained extensive experience supporting individuals with a wide range of physical, cognitive, and neurological conditions - including dementia, stroke recovery, terminal illness, and long-term care. This work has deepened my capacity to meet people where they are - emotionally, physically, and spiritually - and to adapt my support with flexibility and compassion.

Through this role, I’ve witnessed the many gaps in our healthcare and deathcare systems: the rushed timelines, the avoidance of hard conversations, the under-supported caregivers, and the lack of space for meaning-making at the end of life. Being immersed in this environment has sharpened my understanding of what true support can look like. As a death doula, I strive to bring a presence that fills in some of these gaps, offering advocacy for the dying person, compassionate support for caregivers and loved ones, and a steadiness in navigating the emotional, spiritual, and logistical terrain of dying and grief.

My approach is grounded, non-clinical, and centered on deep listening. I believe in honoring each person’s story, values, and desires. Through logistical support, legacy work, vigil planning, grief integration, or simply being there when it matters most.
